Youth sports parent meeting template
Plan a useful first parent meeting: cover scheduling, communication, playing time, volunteer roles, and how families can reach the coach.
Before the meeting
Confirm the practice schedule, arrival instructions, required gear, weather updates, and participation and conduct policies with your league. Invite the approved assistant coaches and decide which questions need a league contact.
A short meeting agenda
Welcome families and introduce the adults. Explain the schedule and communication channel, describe how practices will work, point to the league's playing-time and sideline policies, then leave time for questions. Do not promise a fixed number of minutes unless the league requires it.
After the meeting
Send a recap through the official team channel for families who could not attend. Include the next date and location, what to bring, where changes will appear, and which answers still need confirmation. Handle player-specific matters privately.
