How to use it

A one-page sideline agreement that makes support, safety, communication, and boundary expectations easy to review before the first game.

  1. State the positive standard: encourage every player, respect officials, and let coaches coach.
  2. Name sideline boundaries for the sport and venue, including where adults and siblings should stand.
  3. Explain how a parent raises a concern and when a conversation should happen away from players.
  4. Include a short note that facility, league, safeguarding, and weather rules still control the day.
  5. Leave a signature or acknowledgment line only if the league actually uses one.

Setup notes

Have the league review this against its current code of conduct. Share it before the first game and keep the language visible rather than buried in a long packet.

Coach cues

  • Be specific about behavior, not personalities.
  • Use the same expectations for every family.
  • Escalate safety issues through the league's process.
